This repair cost me £14.98.An identical repair carried out in 2002,for which I found a reciept,cost over £90.It took less than 10 minutes to fit the new element, including the resetting of the digital clock on the oven.

This is the way to cut costs..if you call out a service to fit an element you pay min £70. I bought better quality item , fitted it easily, and it has already lasted longer than the 3 preceeding elements, ALL for a third of the price!
